The Administrative Assistant II position will report directly to the Human Resources Director. This position will provide high level administrative and operational support to the department. Requirements:

  • Ability to provide administrative and operational support to the HR Director.
  • Must have the ability to independently manage multiple tasks and projects with competing priorities and deadlines, while continuing to organize and maintain administrative processes.
  • Must have strong Microsoft Office skills including but not limited to MS Word, MS Excel, and MS Outlook.
  • Ability to process employee status changes including pay, address, tax withholdings and benefit deductions in the City’s payroll system.
  • Ability to perform data entry and maintenance of group health, dental, life, COBRA and voluntary benefits on the respective benefit carrier’s web site.
  • Ability to audit and reconcile monthly group health, dental, life and voluntary benefit invoices and process purchase orders.
  • Ability to conduct New Hire Orientation and assist new employees with the completion of required paperwork.
  • Must be able to effectively communicate information to employees, job candidates, and the general public in reference to various HR related issues.
  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, formulate conclusions and present feasible solutions.
  • Must have effective written and oral communication skills.
  • Must have strong organizational and customer service skills.
  • Must be able to maintain strict confidentiality.
  • Must be able to occasionally work flexible hours
  • Must have and maintain a current valid Arkansas Driver’s license.
  • Associate’s degree or equivalent. A Bachelor’s degree is preferred. Applicants without a degree with at least 2 years of relevant experience may be considered.
