The Airport Advisory Committee was created by the City Council to provide advice and guidance to the Mayor, airport operator (fixed base operator or city airport manager) and City Council on airport management, operations, facilities, equipment, planning and other areas as needed for the efficient operations of the airport.

The committee will consist of seven members, at least four of which will be licensed pilots. members are to be selected by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council. Members will serve staggered four-year terms. The Airport Advisory Committee will be considered a secondary blue ribbon committee due to the limited number of individuals experienced in airport operations.
