Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory

The Bicycle and Pedestrian Advisory Board (BPAB) recommends ways to become and remain; a Bicycle-Friendly Community as designated by the League of American Bicyclists, a Walk-Friendly Community as designated by the UNC Highway Safety Research Center and the Pedestrian and Bicycle Information Center, and achieve the federal and state goals of the Safe Routes to Schools program.

The City of Conway Tree Board works to preserve and enhance the natural beauty of Conway, to protect the health and safety of the residents of Conway, and to protect the environment by providing the development of a Community Forest Management Plan for the regulation of the planting, maintenance, removal, and protection of trees on public property within the City of Conway.

Housing Authority

The role of the Housing Authority is to provide decent, safe and sanitary housing needs to low-income families through public housing and the Section 8 Rental Assistance Payments Program. The Conway Housing Authority Board of Commissioners meets quarterly on the third Monday of the month, in January, March, June, September, and December.


Oak Grove Cemetery

The Oak Grove Cemetery Board establishes policies and provides some assistance in the cemetery's upkeep, promotion, grave sites sales, and record preservation. The board normally meets on the third Monday of the month at 5:30 p.m., at Conway Corporation's IT Building on Prairie Street.

Public Art

The Conway Public Art Board consists of three (3) experts in the field of art, either art historian, gallery director, or other art professional, four (4) members of the community at large, and a member of the City Planning Department. The Public Art Board will typically meet the second (2nd) Wednesday of each month in the City Hall First Floor Conference Room at 5:00 p.m. The board can be reached at publicart@cityofconway.org.
Mission Statement: The Public Art Board strives to encourage an artistic Conway through the creation, acquisition, and/or display of community-centered art.

Robinson Cemetery

The Robinson Cemetery Board was officially established in 2014 to oversee the maintenance and upkeep of the cemetery. This board will help to preserve the history of the cemetery and to establish policies and procedures for record preservation.

Advertising & Promotion

'The City of Conway Advertising & Promotion commission was created by the city council to facilitate tourism and the promotion of the City of Conway. The Advertising and Promotion commission collects taxes on hotel/motel accommodations and levy taxes on all prepared food and beverages. The board consists of seven members each of whom serves a 4 year term.
The Advertising and Promotion commission typically meets the first Tuesday of each month at 2:30pm in the Conway area Chamber of Commerce conference room located at 900 Oak street, Conway, Arkansas.

The Conway Civil Service Commission governs the uniform employees (police and fire) of the City of Conway with regards to hiring, discipline and termination. They meet the first Monday of every month, or when necessary in the first floor conference room in City Hall at 8:30 a.m.

The Robinson Historic District and the Old Conway Design Overlay District were created for the purpose of enhancing, protecting, and preserving the aesthetics, sustainability, and the historic nature and character of the older residential areas in Conway by requiring new construction to conform to proper design standards. The Conway Historic District Commission will typically meet the fourth (4th) Monday of each month at 5:30 p.m., to consider Old Conway Design Overlay District application reviews.

The responsibility of the Planning Commission (PC) is to review various types of development proposals within the City of Conway. One of the responsibilities of the Planning Staff is to provide reports, information, and recommendations to the PC regarding those development proposals. The City Attorney’s office is available to consult on the legal ramifications of the decisions made by the Planning Commission. Other municipal officials may also consulted as needed. Committees

Airport Advisory

The City of Conway Airport Advisory Committee was created by the City Council to provide advice and guidance to the Mayor, airport operator (fixed base operator or city airport manager) and City Council on airport management, operations, facilities, equipment, planning and other areas as needed for the efficient operations of the airport. The committee will consist of seven members, at least four of which will be licensed pilots. members are to be selected by the Mayor and confirmed by the City Council.

The Conway Airport Advisory committee typically meets the 1st and 3rd Thursday of every month at Cantrell Field, 3250 Sand Gap Road at 3:00 p.m. For additional information contact Josh Zylks, Airport Manager at (501) 358-6200.


Homeless Taskforce

The City of Conway Homeless Taskforce was created by Mayor Bart Castleberry to address the needs of the homeless population. This board will provide advice and guidance to the Mayor regarding homelessness and other related tasks as needed. The committee will consist of members of the community involved in assisting the homeless.

The Homeless Taskforce Committee typically meets the 3rd Wednesday of each month at 11:45 a.m. in the Conway Ministry Center located at 766 Harkrider Street.
