The City of Conway is accepting resumes for an Aquatics Manager who is responsible for the planning, development, administration, growth, and evaluation of all Aquatic programs, along with monitoring indoor/outdoor water quality and pool maintenance. The Aquatics Manager reports directly to the Community Center Director. Duties, responsibilities and requirements are:

Ability to manage the daily operations, planning, development, maintenance, and supervision of the indoor and outdoor pool complex associated with the Conway Community Center. The outdoor pool complex consists of a lazy river, slide complex, outdoor pool, and aquatic play structures. The indoor natatorium consists of an eight-lane 25-yard competition pool and separate indoor leisure pool.

Provides recruitment, training, scheduling, supervision, and evaluation of all employees working within the Aquatics division of the Community Center. This includes overseeing the day-to-day activities of lifeguards and other aquatic personnel.

Provides aquatic and safety certification training for lifeguards and aquatics personnel.

Ensures that all appropriate water, environmental, health, and safety standards are maintained; ensures pools are compliant with all local, state, and national requirements and current on all necessary certifications required for operation.

Oversees the maintenance of the pools: including chemistry, climate control, cleanliness, and related maintenance.

Oversees the procurement of needed aquatic supplies, chemicals, and equipment.

Develops, maintains, and continually evaluates a robust aquatic programing schedule.

Works closely with Community Center Director and other Community Center staff to ensure the community center performance supports the operational goals of the City of Conway.

Assists Community Center Director in managing pool usage agreements with schools, swim groups, and swim teams.

Assists Community Center Director in preparing the annual budget.

Represents the City of Conway at various community meetings, committees, and task forces, promoting and explaining existing and new programs and/or policies.

Assists in planning and coordinating Aquatic Community Events.

Willing to work nights and/or weekends as needed.

Perform all other related duties as assigned.

Must have and maintain a current valid Arkansas driver’s license.
Education/ Experience: Bachelor’s Degree; Minimum of five years’ experience in aquatic facility management; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Red Cross Certified Lifeguard Instructor (LGI/WSI), Red Cross Certified Lifeguard, and CPR/First Aid Certified. Certified Pool Operator and/or Aquatic Facility Operator.
Salary $72,100 annually with a competitive benefits package. A background investigation will be conducted before employment can begin.
