General Description:

The City of Conway is now hiring Part-Time Lifeguards to support the safe and efficient operation of the swimming pools and aquatic facilities at the Conway Community Center. This position plays a vital role in ensuring the safety of all patrons and maintaining the cleanliness and order of the aquatic areas.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Monitor and patrol activities in and around aquatic center facilities
  • Administer first aid and/or CPR as necessary
  • Ensure customer satisfaction for patrons and events
  • Assist with swim lessons and aquatic classes
  • Maintain cleanliness of pool decks, locker rooms, showers, and party rooms
  • Care for and manage swimming equipment
  • Report facility or safety issues
  • Assist swimmers in distress
  • Enforce pool rules and regulations
  • Support swim meets, aquatic programs, and events
  • Must be available to work nights, weekends, holidays, and city events as needed
  • Perform other related duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • The ideal candidate will hold a current Lifeguard certification from the American Red Cross.
  • Must have current CPR, First Aid, and AED certification
  • Must be at least 16 years of age
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills
  • Excellent customer service and attention to detail
  • Candidates without certification may still apply; the City will assist with certification for non-certified applicants
