The City of Conway is accepting applications for a Maintenance Specialist position working in the Transportation Department. This position performs manual labor and operates equipment required to accomplish street maintenance tasks.

Requirements:

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent and/or 1–3 months of prior relevant experience. Any equivalent combination of training, education, and experience that provides the necessary knowledge, skills, and abilities may be considered.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must have and maintain a valid Arkansas Driver’s License with a clean driving record.
• Must be able to operate and drive City vehicles in a safe and responsible manner.
• Ability to disseminate instructions accurately.
• Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds, cut brush, remove debris from ditches, use manual tools, and operate weed eaters.
• Must be willing to work in an adverse physical environment (including inclement weather).
• Must have the ability to achieve work goals while following City policies and safety procedures.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the general public, co-workers, and elected officials.
