Funding Source Descriptions

General – all city funds not dedicated to a specific purpose.

Street – primarily funded by taxes on the sale of gasoline and diesel fuel.

Street Sales Tax 2018 – 3/8 cent temporary sales tax, to be used for street reconstruction.

Sanitation – funded by residential and commercial waste collection fees.

Airport – funded by the sale of aviation gas and jet fuel at the Cantrell Field airport.

Parks & Rec A&P – sales tax collected on the sale of prepared food.

CDBG – Community Development Block Grant

Spay and Neuter – funds collected from the sale of animal tags, to be used for the health of the animals kept at the animal shelter.

Court Automation – installment fee charged to defendants who cannot pay their fine in full, to be used for court technology purchases.

Asset Forfeiture – funds seized by the police department, in which the case has been adjudicated by the court.

Tree Board – donation funds collected on behalf of the Tree Board.

Pay as You Go Sales Tax – 1/4 cent permanent sales tax, to be used for the purchase of police vehicles and major street projects.

Stormwater/Sidewalk In Lieu Of – fee paid by developers who wish to forego building the sidewalks and stormwater mitigation systems themselves.

Seized Assets – funds seized by the police department, in which the case has not yet been adjudicated by the court.

Parks & Rec Ad Valorem – voluntary property tax for the operation of public recreation and playgrounds.

Animal Welfare Ad Valorem – voluntary property tax for the operation of the animal shelter.

Street Impact – fee paid by developers on new commercial construction, to be used to add capacity to city streets.

Parks Impact – fee paid by developers on new residential construction, to be used to add capacity to city parks.

Airport Grant – grant funded purchases at the Cantrell Field airport.

Police Equipment Grant – grant awarded to the police department for the purchase of equipment.

Misc Grant Fund – miscellaneous grant funds received.

Nonuniform Pension – retirement plan provided to all full time employees who are not uniformed police or fire.
