The Arkansas Department of Transportation is proposing to widen Highway 65B (Harkrider St) between Bruce St and Highway 64 (Oak St) in Conway.

The proposed project will consist of widening Highway 65B for 0.73 miles between Bruce St and Highway 64. The widening will improve the existing four-lane section to four 11-foot travel lanes with one 12-foot, two-way left turn lane with curb and gutter, and five-foot sidewalks with a three-foot grass berm. The project also includes installing a storm sewer system, updating the existing signal at the intersection of 6th St and Highway 65B, along with a new signal that will be added to the intersection of College Ave/3rd Street and Highway 65B.

An open house, in-person, public involvement meeting will be held on Thursday, June 9, 2022 from 4:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. to discuss the proposed project.

The in-person meeting will be held at Don Owen Sports Center located at 10 Lower Ridge Rd in Conway.

This project website will provide a video presentation, the ability to view and download meeting materials and exhibits, and a place to provide online comments. All exhibits and information presented on the website will also be available at the in-person meeting.

The public is invited to visit the project website at their leisure. We also invite you to participate anytime during the in-person public meeting's scheduled hours to view exhibits, ask questions with staff, and offer comments.
